What an amazing find! A full three piece, numbered set form the late 1970s by Jean Louis Scherrer. Scherrer was known for his elegant and refined design work and this suit is a perfect example of that. It is classic but with just the right amount of little POW details that you want in a demi-couture piece. I love the little A-line cut skirt with its red leather trim. This trim is picked up again in the edging of the jacket and tie belt. The shirt underneath is a combination of the blue and the red so picks up the color of the suit perfectly. The inside of all pieces are finished impeccably - all in silk and all hand stitched. This is a suit that is the equivalent of couture today! Excellent, seemingly unworn condition.
The skirt and jacket are lined in silk and are hand set. The shirt is lined through the body in a silk chiffon. The skirt closes with a hand set fine painted metal zipper. Both the jacket and shirt button to close. Note that the shirt has French cuffs and there are no buttons for it - I would just steal a pair of cuff links from your favorite guy! The tie at the neck and the tie on the jacket are both separate pieces and are in excellent condition as well.
